Designing one AI-assisted lesson activity
With a real need and a validated tool, you now design one AI-assisted activity inside one lesson. Keep it small and real. A small, well-judged first step is better than a large, impressive plan that fails in the classroom.
Decide who does what
- What AI does: e.g., draft examples, create practice questions, suggest alternative explanations, or support language editing.
- What the teacher does: validates, adapts, explains, decides, guides and protects privacy.
- What pupils do: think, interpret, solve, discuss, write, check and learn.
Name one accessibility adjustment
Every lesson plan must include at least one concrete adjustment: large-print handout, read-aloud option, captions, extra time, peer partner, printed material, or low-bandwidth route.
Plan for one device
Design for a teacher demonstration, rotating groups, or printed AI-prepared material. Do not assume every pupil has a device.
Exemplar: climate-data storytelling
Pupils read a climate graph and write a short data story about what it means for people's lives. AI may help generate sample stories or support language checking, but pupils interpret the data and write their own story.
