Choosing and validating a tool — the validation check

After deciding that AI genuinely adds value, the next step is to choose a tool and check it before it ever meets pupils. A quick, repeatable validation routine turns “use trustworthy tools” into an actual professional habit.

Five questions before a tool meets pupils

Accuracy: Is the output correct and reliable enough for this use? Check claims against reliable sources.
Privacy: Does it protect pupil data? No pupil personal data goes into a public tool.
Accessibility: Can all pupils use it? Consider captions, screen-reader support, large text, low bandwidth, offline route and shared device.
Appropriateness: Is it age-appropriate, safe and free from harmful bias or stereotypes?
Language and cultural fit: Does it work for Nepali and local contexts, names and examples?

Stop rule: A clear “no” on privacy or appropriateness stops the tool. Do not continue until the issue is fixed or another tool is chosen.

Try it: Pick one AI tool you might use. Note one check it passes and one issue you must test further.

Suggested 16-minute pacing: 7 minutes reading, 5 minutes checklist practice, 3 minutes risk flag, 1 minute decision.

विद्यार्थीअघि tool प्रयोग गर्नु अघि पाँच प्रश्न

शुद्धता: output यस प्रयोगका लागि सही र भरपर्दो छ? दाबीहरू reliable sources सँग जाँच्नुहोस्।
गोपनीयता: यसले विद्यार्थीको डेटा सुरक्षित राख्छ? सार्वजनिक tool मा pupil personal data राखिँदैन।
पहुँचयोग्यता: सबै विद्यार्थीले प्रयोग गर्न सक्छन्? captions, screen-reader support, large text, low bandwidth, offline route र shared device विचार गर्नुहोस्।
उपयुक्तता: सामग्री उमेरअनुकूल, सुरक्षित र harmful bias/stereotype बाट मुक्त छ?
